Announcement from the Editor

It is with regret that I announce 2010 will be my last year as editor of Michigan’s Habitant Heritage. By the end of 2010, I will have completed 15 years as editor. The most important qualifications to be editor are: editorial skills, computer savvy, and some knowledge of French. Please contact Loraine DiCerbo, President, if you are interested in accepting this very interesting, rewarding, volunteer position. Because a lot of the work is now done on and via a computer, you do not have to live in Michigan to be editor. I will work with you this year to give you some insight into the role of editor of Michigan’s Habitant Heritage. Please contact Loraine at: ldicerbofchsm@gmail.com.

The French Canadian Heritage Society of Michigan was founded in 1980 as an educational, historical, cultural, and genealogical non-profit organization. It seeks to make people aware of the rich culture and history of French Canadians in North America, with special emphasis on those who explored and settled in Michigan.

Our aims are:
