Collection

The French-Canadian Heritage Society of Michigan's genealogical and historical collection of books, journals, and file folders are housed at the Mount Clemens Public Library. The address is:

Mount Clemens Public Library
150 Cass Ave.
Mount Clemens, MI 48043-2297
(586) 469-6200
(586) 469-6668, fax
http://www.macomb.lib.mi.us/mountclemens

Please contact the library and verify their hours of operation before making a visit. Many of the items in our collection, but not all, can be found in the library's online card catalog. In general, the library does not have the staff to answer your written research questions. Although we try to answer specific research questions mailed to the Society's headquarters, we do not provide a research service due to limited resources and volunteers. Some of the books are in storage and available for members of the Society by appointment only. Mary Freer is the Library Committee chairperson and liaison.  She can be reached at (586) 791-4126 for an appointment. Or you can call Al Trudeau (586) 751-4284 to see if a Wednesday appointment is available.

You can download a Microsoft Excel 2000 spreadsheet listing the contents of the Society's library. If you are not using Microsoft Internet Explorer, then you will have to right click on this link and save the Excel file to your computer.

The Mount Clemens Public Library has been very kind to host the Society's collections and meetings. We thank the library and hope that you will support it.
